At the Fairbanks Spiritual Explorers Exploration Gathering the community came together in discussion about how a truly successful person behaves. The following are the points made by two different groups (combined).
Actions towards others
Civility: the successful person takes responsibility for themselves in solving problems and does not blame others for what happens in life.
They are compassionate towards others and consider the impact of their behavior on the world.
Successful people are generous of spirit and action. They don’t hoard what they have, they freely share it.
They teach others the secrets of their success and helps them to be successful. This isn’t a competition!
Actions towards oneself
A truly successful human takes care of themselves so they don’t get burned out.
They practice healthy boundaries.
They live in a drama-free zone allowing what happens to happen without creating chaos in their mind and life.
They learn from the past without beating themselves up.
Way of being in the world
A successful individual is confident enough to lead while practicing humility.
They are trustworthy.
They act with integrity being true to their own value system.
They act with fairness and equity.
They recognize and are grateful for a team effort. They acknowledge the truth of interdependence – we are not alone in this life and need each other.
